A national spotlight shines on Frisco when 2500 acres are sold by the Bert Fields’ family (75-year owners.). The land, dating back to about 1853 and in a city named #1 Place to Live in America*, is destined to become an extraordinary multi-use development.
The ambitious vision: expected cost over $12B, about 10,000 homes, 72 acres of parks and 18M sf commercial space for some 30,000 occupants. A 500-room Omni hotel and 600-acre PGA national headquarters are already in place. Following FIELDS’ leadership: a 97-acres first-ever Universal Kids Theme Park, a new Baylor Scott White hospital, a 3000-student campus for University of North Texas and The Star industrial complex.
Landon snares over 300 acres to yield about 1600 lots, in Brookside North and East Village, followed by Brookside South and University Village. Both Landon Homes and Landon Development begin the process of designing home plans and land plans for about nine building programs.
